Determine your own worth

Every commodity has a buyer. If you don't know how to market yourself, you may have to accept a lower value than you are.

There is an expression I came across in Germany that I like very much.

A bottle of water

0.50 cents at the supermarket

1€ in the gym

2€ at the bar

4€ at the airport

Same bottle, same water. The only thing that changes is the value of the water. Next time you feel worthless, remember you're in the wrong place.

one more small example

It is on a Nissan GTR Skyline r34 story where a father gifted his daughter a Nissan GTR Skyline r34. A father said to his daughter, “You graduated with honors, here is a car I acquired many years ago. It is several years old. But before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them I want to sell it and see how much they offer you.”

So the daughter goes to a used car lot, returns to her father and says, “They offered $1,000 because it looks very worn out.” The father said, “Take him to the pawn shop.”

The daughter goes to the pawn shop, returns to her father, and replies, “The pawn shop offered $100 because it was a very old car.”

Finally, the father asks his daughter, take him to a car club. Daughter goes to the car club and returns to her father. She says, “Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it since its a Nissan Skyline R34, an iconic car and sought out after by many.”

The moral story: Father says to his daughter, “The right place values you the right way. If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place.

Knowing your own worth is a kind of self-confidence. It doesn't matter what others think, how much they value you, what they say about you. What matters is what you think about yourself. Because true queens are aware of their own strengths and their own shortcomings.

Those who know your value are those who appreciate you. Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.
